Juan Carlos Silva, 37 years, is a Peruvian historietista. He studied Sociology but it was gained by the drawing and the reading of tales, interest that it was cultivating from his school epochs. While he was studying Social Sciences it obtained work as draftsman and followed the route of self-taught. The adventure of prominent figures created and to draw called it more than the sociological projects, and looked for work as draftsman " the hand slackened ". This way, throughout the nineties - sometimes times with he pays and others not - it was employed at almost a dozen of popular diaries, where he perfected his outline doing emblems of humor and cartoons.
Nearby meetings
In 1991 and 1992 it was a part of the Club Be born of Tales, directed by Javier Prado, and in him Carlos Crisóstomo, Rubén Sáez and Julio Granados were collaborating, between others. " There I knew important people as Julio Polar ", it tells Forest. Polar age a transported draftsman of cómic and he was training the boys as if they were drawing for an imaginary diary. It gave to him trade.
It was Polar the one who recommended to him to look what was happening in the national reality. Forest was a part of a group of young draftsmen that was visiting it, religiously, in his house of the Callao throughout three years. Some of them desisted, but our historietista persisted and one walked along diaries and publishing houses as Ember, Navarrete and Santillana, with the alone zeal to draw. It discovered then that his was to work with educational texts.
Global Cómic
In 2004 published his first book, " The origin of the Incas (Sketchbook) ". A summary of his better works in that the tales were standing out on history. 2007, already as publisher, extracted the second edition with 44 invited draftsmen and published also in magazines like Carboncito, Perucho Art, between others.
The internationalization gave to itself route the blogs of comics. For ends of last year he sent his works to postulate to a project trinacional on Manuela Sáenz, and, from Ecuador, they chose it. It took part, this way, in " Manuelita Sáenz and Simón Bolívar, a battle of love " (2010) edited in Guayaquil, with the patronage of the Consulate of Peru in this city. They accompany it in the interpretation of " The General alert ": Mauricio Gil (Ecuador) and Nelson Zuluaga (Colombia).

To educate entertaining
Forest - in joint project with Publishing San Marcos--has planned to adapt Ricardo Palma's tradition, and twenty classic works of the universal literature as " The principito ", " Romeo and Juliet ", "Robin Hood" or " The island of the exchequer ". In Peru the art of the comic is growing, but more of the tale underground, street, of popular culture. Forest is focused, nevertheless, in the education: " I work the history for the fact that I like to count her - it indicates-, and because I saw that with the cómic something can be done very educationally ".
