Òscar Garriga " Coragre" (Catalonia 1961) it begins to create his imaginary universe in
first years 60. With only little springs it illustrates the story popular Catalan - Patufetin
the school. In the 70 of the hand of the sketcher Antoni Aynè it initiates his first
passages in the world of the drawing and the Comics, to continue his studies - in total
adolescent rebellion in Escola Massana of Barcelona - where it learns painting and
engraving- is when it overcomes his timidity and it begins to participate in
contests and exhibitions showing its ironic and surrealistic character, in a time
in which the fight against the dictatorship is latent in any corner of the country.
Of that time it is possible to emphasize his matericas paintings of Popsurreal. Also
it attends the factories of Comics of Rodolfo Pastor and engraving of Raul Capitani
in years 80. Its poetic-Rocker facet and begins to take terrain to the drawing and
publishes - in the 90 - its first LP like Coragre. It is necessary to insist on his
collaboration in the world of the wireless waves, in Mataró Radio (in the 80) and in
Arenys Radio, Radio Malgrat and Radio Cerdanyola, in years 90.
With the new century, participates in the traveling exhibitions of the Supermarket
of Art 'American Prints' (Mallorca, Barcelona, a Coruña, Valladolid, Bilbao and
Madrid). In the 2003 it realises the construction of its Web site Imaginari -
www.coragre.com - and exhibits its drawings and illustrations in virtual galleries of
average world (Saatchi Gallery of London, Artelista de Catalonia, Mister Expo of
Belgium, Starving Artists Gallery of Wisconsin…) also it participates in events of
Mail-Art and Digital Art being finalist of MIAD 2006 of Argentina i participating in
’Salón de Arte Digital 2008 ' of Maracaibo, Venezuela, also to emphasize its
participation in samples of international graphical humor and recently has been
including in the encyclopedia 'LEXICON DER PHANTASTISCHEN KUNTSLER'
specialized in fantastic and Surrealistic Art of the Austrian writer Gerhard Habarta;
in the web page of association APPEC publishes the strip of graphical humor -
'Històries a Cau d'Orella' www.lesrevistes.cat, with this comic strip has
been awarded in '2on Concurs d'Humor Gràfic Esportiu 2008 ' that organizes
'Fundació Catalana per a l'Esport' in year 2009.
